All spring, the collared, stripe polo sweater has been filling my social media feeds. But how does one style that top for a casual office? This outfit brings this trendy piece to work.
I spotted this image from Wendy Swan on Pinterest. It felt very chic, by comfortable and relaxed. I wasn’t able to find a polo in black stripe, so I switched it up to navy. Let’s remake this outfit for the casual office, shall we?
Sweater // The collared polo sweater is everywhere this spring. I pulled this navy option from LOFT. Prefer a darker palette for this preppy look? Banana Republic has it in navy. This J.Crew sweater mixes navy and a peachy ivory.
Jeans // The wide leg jean is back in a big way. I found this <$50 pair from Banana Republic (also in petite and tall). If you’re looking for a lighter wash, Anthropologie has you covered.
Prefer pants to jeans? These dark grey trousers from Anthro are worth a look. Boden has a super comfortable pair of ponte wide leg pants. Or grab a pair of classic chinos from Boden.
Shoes // A pair of bow ballerina flats are a wardrobe staple. This pair from Margaux will last you for years to come. Pick them up in your choice of colors. Need a more affordable pair? J.Crew Factory is the place to go. Wide feet? Try these Naturalizers.
Bag // This bucket bag is a chic alternative to the simple crossbody. Try this Charles and Keith option with a dramatic black chain. Want a chic tote that blends in the elements of a bucket bag? This Everlane tote is for you.
Sunglasses // I love a pair of tortoise sunglasses. This deeply discounted pair of sunnies from Givenchy comes in unique black tortoise shade. They’re perfect for summer, and they really pull the black accessories together with the preppy navy look..

Margaux offers the wide fit as well. I tried the Margaux flats in the store, using their display model for wide feet, and they fit amazing, buttery-soft! The sales assistant warned me that it was worn quite a bit, since it was a try-on shoe. I purchased the wide fit version and turns out you need to wear it a long time to get that soft feel. After about 10 wears I gave up – the shoes were still super stiff. And so I keep wearing my Rothys.
Having the same experience — I have wide feet and bought 2 of the suede flats (on sale), so far they’re pretty stiff unfortunately :/
Really cute! Great for so many occasions too.
Thanks for including the wide shoe option. Shoes are a struggle sometimes so it’s nice to see a recommendation!
