The Beauty Range: Eyebrow Essentials

Jan 14, 2022

Last week, I mentioned that I’m trying to grow my eyebrows back in.  Right now, my left one looks great, but the right one is a bit sparse.  Here are a few of my favorite products to get the job done right (aka. natural looking, not painted on).

Best Splurge Purchase

This Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil gives you thin, hairlike strokes so your eyebrows never look over done.

The Best Pomade

If your brows are already fairly full and you just need a bit of darkening and shaping, Glossier Boy Brow is the pick for you.

Best Liquid Pencil

Some women like a liquid pencil for the staying power.  This NYX Lift and Snatch Brow Tint Pen is perfect for making sharp lines.

Best Clean Beauty Choice

This PYT Beauty Defining Brow Pencil gives you hairlike strokes in a formula free of harsh chemicals.

Best Drugstore Option

Ulta’s Ultraslim Brown Pencil has a good selection of colors, an easy wearing formula, and it prices out at $5.

The Winky Lux universal brow pencil (available at Target) is my go to. I was skeptical when it came in Fab Fit Fun box but it works!

  2. Shannon says:

How do you feel about brow lamination? I wasn’t really a fan, but like many things you see over and over again it has started to look OK to me.

  3. BN says:

I still love the YBF eye brow pencil that you recommended years ago. It’s perfection. https://www.amazon.com/ybf-Universal-Eyebrow-Pencil-Taupe/dp/B07D88WFBY

I love the NYX Micro Brow Pencil – it’s my favorite drugstore option, and a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz.

  5. Kleigh says:

The Elf brow gel is way better and lasts longer than Glossier boy brow, at a fraction of the price! Can’t live without it.

    • Edna Mazur says:

      Same, way cheaper, and better.

    • Mm says:

I also use and love the ELF brow gel!

    • Kate says:

I prefer the Boy Brow, but the ELF is a reasonable dupe, particularly at 1/4 the price and available in a drugstore. I switch back and forth, based on whether I need anything else from Glossier that would get me to the free shipping minimum.

    • Meg says:

Also commenting on the Elf brow. I wasn’t able to get my normal Anastasia brow and got Elf brow to hold me over, and ended up loving it even more. Bonus – the wand seems to get less/no produce on my skin above the brows in comparison to ever other brand I have tried.

Recommend trying the kosas brow gel! So natural and great hold but not too sticky.

Re growing my brows that I heavily tweezed (why did we do this to ourselves in the 90s and 00s??).

I go to Sania’s Brow Bar in NY and their pencil is great. I am a bit clumsy with brow pencils and I feel like this one is idiot-proof and looks super natural
