Monday Outfit: Back to Work-from-Home

Jan 10, 2022

With many of us working from home again, I thought I would pull out one of my favorite WFH ensembles.  It’s comfortable, looks professional, and can also be worn to the office.  Let’s get to it.

This outfit from Fashion Jackson served as inspiration for the more business-like rebuild.  If you have a casual workplace and you’re looking for outfit inspiration, Amy is a good place to start.  Her style is based almost entirely around neutral pieces that would look at home in almost any closet.

Sweater // I swapped out Amy’s camel coat for a long, tan cardigan.  The one I chose is from Cuyana, which is more of a luxury brand.  From my own closet, I would wear my J.Crew Juliette Cardigan (also in plus).  If you’re looking for something less expensive, Chicwish has a similar style for <$50.

Prefer a camel coat? Vince has one on discount at Nordstrom Rack that is very similar to the photo.

Shirt // This Banana Republic shirt is one of my favorite recent purchases.  It’s a little oversized, but I don’t swim in it.  It’s long enough to wear with leggings.  And it’s washable, but will need a touch up from an iron or steamer.

Jeans // Distressed jeans are one of my favorite fashion items.  They add a bit of style to even the most basic outfit.  This pair from Frame are a great skinny option.  These Joe’s distressed boyfriend jeans are another good options.  Need a plus-size pair?  Try these slim-fit jeans from Wit & Wisdom.

Shoes // Driving moccasins are one of my favorite shoes.  They’re comfortable, more substantial than ballet flats, and classic.  The dream is a pair of Tod’s (amazing).  M.Gemi has a suede pair that are nice too.  These Evelyn drivers from Cole Hahn are a nice option for under-$100.

Bag // These woven bags are very popular right now.  I keep getting fed Instagram ads for them.  The Naghedi St. Barths tote is probably the most popular.  From what I can tell, it serves the purpose of a Longchamp bag or Louis Vuitton Never Full.  It’s a little spendy, but being made of Neoprene, it should be durable.

Sunglasses // These Celine knock-offs are awesome.  I own two pair.

Style Notes // The reason you can mix a black bag with brown shoes here is two-fold — the shoes are a flesh-toned hue (for some people) and the sunglasses are black, tying it all together. hair for this is whatever you’re feeling, but in an updo, might feel a little stuffy.

Another great outfit! This is one of my favorite features! Has anyone tried the new Rothys drivers? I have a credit to use there and have been eyeing them.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
