The Best January Weekend Sales

Jan 7, 2022

As retailers continue to clear out their back rooms and basements to prepare for spring attire, the sales just keep coming.  Here are a few of my favorites for this weekend.

Saks Off 5th // Up to 80% off clearance items.

Top Picks. Stuart Weitzman Knee-High Boots // Cashmere Open Front Cardigan (<$50) // Socialite V-Neck Mini-Dress

Coolest Pick. A Skincare Fridge

Abercrombie & Fitch // 50% off select styles; 20% off almost everything else.

Top Picks. Turtleneck Sweater Dress // Oversized Button-Up Shirt // Split Hem V-neck Sweater

Best Affordable Find. Cozy V-Neck Legging Tee

Top Picks from Everything Else. Shearling Snap Jacket* // Squareneck Bodysuit

Sephora // 50% off top Lancome Genefique; other sale items.

Top Picks. Facial Cool Globes // Fresh Exfoliating Face Wash // Clean Bubble Mask

Tory Burch // 25% off sale-priced items.

Top Picks. Ribbed Merino Wool Cardigan // Silk Bow Blouse // Perry Triple Compartment Tote

Top Affordable Pick. Tie Dye Sleeveless Top

*I’m not going to refer to clothing as “Sherpa” anymore. We’ve been watching a number of documentaries about mountain climbing in the Himalayas, and it feels insensitive to the people and the culture.

Whoa, had not thought about that with “sherpa”. I think your blog is also where I learned/realized that “Tiki” is insensitive. Thanks for helping me be better. 🙂

Also 80% off at Saks??? Yes please!

  2. Eileen says:

Thank you for bringing up the “sherpa” issue. Sherpas are humans, not their animals, so when a retailer describes something as “sherpa-lined”…*shudder*.

I *just* put on my knee high flat black boots and realized they’ve finally given up the ghost. Perfect timing! <3

  4. AC says:

I’ve been telling myself to replace my tall black boots for the past 5 months – looks like this weekend is a great time to do it. Thank you for the great recs! Also, now I want A&F clothes again…?!

  5. CP says:

Re the Stuart Weitzman boots, I have a somewhat similar pair from Coach that I bought years ago and my question is, how the heck do you get them on when there’s no zipper?? It’s such a hassle to get them on and I end up almost ripping a hole in my sock trying to pull on the boots. Recently I found a YouTube video that suggested using a plastic bag around your foot to pull the boot up. I tried it, and it worked, but I couldn’t get the plastic bag completely off, and I ended up with a noisy plastic bag in one foot. Seriously, is there is a tip for pulling on the boot?

    • Belle says:

I have a pair of Loeffler’s with the same issue. It is a huge issue. But there so pretty…I should probably try to game a solution.

Another month has come and gone, and between a busy work schedule, illness and the search for new childcare, I almost forgot to ask for questions for the AMA.  Luckily, I remembered late last night.  So here we go. I always think it’s funny when people send rude or overly personal questions when I put […]

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

In the name of fiscal responsibility, I’m taking a shopping respite through the end of the year.  When you write a fashion blog, not shopping is like being a person on a diet who moves into a McDonald’s.  But I’m determined to flex some self-discipline now that my holiday shopping is done.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
