Seasonless Styles: A Lightweight Sweaters

Jul 26, 2021

August is a strange time to go shopping.  Swimsuits sit next to sweaters.  Tall boots are next to sandals.  We can’t decide whether we want to soak up the last of summer or get ready for the fall.

So this week, I thought it might be nice to talk about a few pieces that work in September as well as January.  Pieces you might even be able to wear right now, and wear down the road.  Starting with this incredibly versatile wrap top from Boden.

The Lara Wrap Top can be worn to work or on the weekend.  It’s soft fabric makes getting dressed a more comfortable experience.  Whether you pair it with a pencil skirt or a pair of leggings and a cardigan, it still looks good.  And it’s long enough for those of us on the longer-torsoed side, so no worries about it riding up when tucked.

The top comes in black or navy, and runs in sizes 2-22.

Boden has a wide variety of easy tops and shirts.  I love this super-soft, square neck jersey t-shirt (91% cotton).  And their silk, collarless blouse is great for work.

Looking for a deal?  Their sale and final sale sections are always loaded with steals.  I suggest searching by size to avoid disappointment.  I snagged this short-sleeve wrap dress for 60% off.

Boden has been my savior as my covid weight gain bumped me into the 20-22 range. Just a word of warning though, read the return policies carefully as the return window (especially for sale items, many of which are final sale) can be very short, and much shorter than I was used to with my Nordstrom, gap and ann taylor days of yore.

When I read ‘August’, I was just floored. It feels like that part in Mean Girls where Tina Fey asks if you’ve been personally victimized by Regina George. I feel personally victimized by us almost being to Autumn already 😀

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
