Dresses for Summer Weddings: Floral Edition

Jun 24, 2021

Summer weddings are back, and that means dresses.  In a post-pandemic world having a bit of fun with your attire means bold colors and patterns, and today, I wanted to share some chic floral dresses.

I organized this outfits by price point because how much you spend on a dress for a wedding depends on a lot of factors.  How many weddings do you have that summer?  Who is getting married?  How many photos will you be posing for (a number that rises for a close friend or family member)?  And also the simple question of what your budget should be for a dress you might only wear once or twice before you Poshmark it.

Formal (over-$500) // This Embroidered Mesh Bustier Dress is pretty and playful.  I love the embroidered floral print with its colorful, whimsical look.  To finish it up, I added a metallic sandal for dancing the night away and an earring that pulls the pale pink color from the floral.

Looking for a more affordable gown for a formal wedding?  This Eliza J gown has a nice print.  Plus-size?  I love this soft purple dress from Avenue.

Semi-Formal (over-$200) // This Shirred Floral V-Neck Dress from DvF is a great choice for a wedding, bridal shower, or summertime event.  I paired it with a simple sandal (I own these and they’re pretty comfortable.) and a bright clutch to accent the print.

Semi-Formal (under-$200) // This Floral Halter Neck Dress has a big bold print that is fabulous.  I decided to carry the pink tones into the shoe with this Marc Fisher heel, and chose a simple bangle stack for the accessory.

Casual Wedding (under-$100) // This H&M Lilac Jacquard Dress (also in plus) is a fun, on trend look in a great color.  The tonal floral jacquard also gives you that floral whimsy without the bold print.  I wanted to keep the shoes the same color because it has a playful vibe, and paired it with a simple white clutch you can carry again and again.

Other dresses in this price point include this rose halter dress from TJ Maxx and this wrap dress from Nordstrom in a yellow floral.

That blue gown is gorgeous but so youthful! Thinking it would be a killer prom dress.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
