Long Read. My father vanished when I was 7.  The experience made me who I am.

Today is the last day of Amazon Prime Day.  I’m not going to give you any hype about amazing products or repeatedly implore you to ‘shop early and often’ for the best deals.  Frankly, all the hype gives me a major case of the eye rolls.  But there are a handful of items that I picked up this year because grabbing an item I already love at a discount is a no-brainer.  Here they are.

I have ALL THE FEELINGS about the “what do we owe our jobs?” article. At a former employer, the male partners ALWAYS left events we hosted and the female partners stayed to clean up. It upset me as a junior associate, and when I raised it, they laughed it off. Physical labor, not emotional, in this case, but even so, speaks to a larger issue related to culture and unreasonable expectations… Anyway, *rant over*. 🙂

That is indeed a must read. This quote–whoosh–so true: “The better you are, the worse it gets,” she said. “No one likes a successful woman.”

As a lawyer dealing a lot with other lawyers who exhibit BAD behavior, I often wonder if the opposing counsel would try that behavior on a man and most of the time, conclude they wouldn’t.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
