The Range: An ‘Ask Belle’ Find

Jun 8, 2021

Yesterday someone DM’ed me on Instagram to ask for a way to carry her phone and cards while she’s out and about this summer.  She explained that she was not ready to carry a purse yet, and wanted to downsize her handbag.  So here are a handful of options.

I loved the punchy coral color of this House of Want crossbody phone bag.  It also has a few slots for cards in the back.  If you’re not feeling the coral, it also comes in black.  There is also a tote bag version with a dramatic chain strap.

This Dagne Dover Piper Phone Sling is a sleek option.  I like that it’s adjustable, so you can determine which length is best for you.  It comes in four great colors.

This Thacker phone sling has a really cool style to it.  The phone is held into it’s pouch by a leather strap, and the hinged top conceals the card sleeves.  There’s also a small pocket for cash.

For something casual, I highly recommend the Dagne Dover mara. I bought 2 last summer and used it all.the.time.

She could consider the Lo & Sons Waverly 2 as an option. It may still be too purse-like for some, but if you get the smaller size it’s pretty compact and you can convert it to crossbody, shoulder, wristlet, or belt bag. It comes in a range of colors and 2 different leather options, as well.

What has surprised me most about mine is how much I actually use the “belt bag” conversion! I never would have considered a belt bag having grown up in the era of ubiquitous neon fanny packs, but this one is actually very classy and the hands-free factor is perfect for a lot of summer activities.

I swear by my Bandolier! I do have the cross body straps, but I use the wristlet (“emma bandolet”) on a daily basis. Excellent quality leather, but also vegan options available.

Same boat over here-I considered a fanny pack since they seem to be back “in style” but I found a sling from Bellroy instead for walking the dog & running errands in the city!

    How about a waist/belt option?

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
