Monday Outfit: A Work from Home Jumpsuit

Apr 26, 2021

Jumpsuits were never a part of my wardrobe before the pandemic.  Because, while comfortable, using the restroom in public in a jumpsuit is a real pain.  Plus, finding one you think is flattering isn’t easy, so you really have to find one you’re going to wear.

But for work from home when you don’t have to navigate a public restroom and you are less concerned about looking your best, you can really embrace the jumpsuit.  And, best of all, they’re really comfortable and breezy for summer.

Today’s outfit comes from PhD in Clothes, a blog about career and fashion and thrifting.  And it strikes me as a great look for spring and early summer.  No muss, no fuss, but not leggings.

Jumpsuit // This comfy jersey jumpsuit from Banana Republic is so good I bought two.  I went from owning zero jumpsuits to one and then, when I had worn it three times in a week, two.  Also in petite and tall.  I like it because this jumpsuit is really loose and comfortable, like pajamas for the daytime.

I also like this <$40 one with straight legs from Fourteenth Place. For summer, a linen jumpsuit is a great, lighter option.  This Velvet linen jumpsuit and this sleeveless Madewell one are both fabulous.  Plus-size?  Try this jersey one from London Times and this copper linen one from Eloquii.

Sweater // I chose oatmeal because it mixed well with the deep copper in this jumpsuit.  A toned up look that looks chic and expensive and ready for anything.

This Old Navy cardigan is an easy throw-on.  Keep it at your desk for warmth or in your bag to throw on over anything.  I own this Amazon sweater, and I love the rounded hem and the chunky texture.  Plus-size?  Try this Forever21 Patch Pocket Cardi.

Shoes // Who’s ready for sandal season?  Me, me, me!  And these Madewell Boardwalk sandals are a great neutral shoe that you can wear to the pool or to dinner.  If you like the look of a Birkenstock, I also found these Senso cross-strap sandals.  Have wide feet?  Try these sandals from Sofft.

Accessories // Working from home means staring at a screen for more hours than should be allowed.  These blue light glasses from Quay help keep the 3:00PM headache at bay.  I also like the rounded frames on these Prive Riveaux glasses.

A fun pair of earrings can lift any outfit.  I love the details on these Taj Dot Huggie Hoops.  I also like these chain hoops from Nordstrom. Looking for a stud earring?  These Gorjana textured, diamond-shaped studs are fab.

Styling // I almost always end up in my jumpsuit with a second-day-hair updo and a fresh face.  I wear Cicapair Color Correcting cream to remove some of that walking dead look and eliminate redness, but unless I have a meeting, I don’t wear makeup at home.  It’s like a gift to my skin.

    love the copper color!!

P.S. think you may have forgotten to add the plus size details for the sweater section.

As a petite woman, I am partial to jumpsuits. I feel like they have an elongating effect. And I am in LOVE with this color!

Bought this jumpsuit and I love it! So comfortable but helps me feel pulled together.

For posterity, wanted to add I bought this jumpsuit and it is good! I am a short legged apple shape currently at size 14 who thought she had no business in jumpsuits but this one changed my mind. I got it in large. The regular length is truly ankle skimming and I’m 5’4”, so taller folks may want the tall length.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
