This week, my bosses will head home, but I still need to head to the office. Jeans are not an option, so I’m searching for a comfortable outfit that’s still professional. This was one of my favorites.
This street style image that I found on Pinterest really speaks to me. It takes simple basics that most of us already own and builds a stylish outfit that works for the office or the weekend (depending on how dressed up you like to be for brunch). Here’s how to recreate it.
Pants // Who else isn’t wearing jeans right now? COVID weight gain plus my office dress code have me passing on jeans in favor of these Spanx ponte skinny pants. They’re thicker than leggings, and in true Spanx fashion, shape and sculpt your body. Plus-size? Try these INC pants.
Looking for something that looks more like a trouser? J.Crew Factory’s Ponte Slim Work Pant and these NYDJ straight leg pants are both a good choice.
Sweater // The inspiration photo has a turtleneck, but I can no longer wear a snug turtleneck without spending the whole day itching. Instead, I chose a more flattering and more comfortable v-neck sweater. This Banana Republic merino sweater is a good option. For a cotton option, this Ralph Lauren sweater looks great. Plus-size? This Amazon Essentials sweater looks like a good option.
Blazer // If you need to freshen your blazer wardrobe, now is the time. The pandemic has professional clothes on deep discount everywhere. This Frame blazer with a ruched sleeve is on deep discount. Other discounted blazers that caught my eye are this Malene Birger and this gorgeous DvF belt blazer. I also like this puff-sleeve BB Dakota blazer.
Plus-size or petite? Check out this Cornerstone Blazer.
Bag // I wanted a colored bag, but the style in the photo just isn’t my style. This Kate Spade New York bag is fantastic. The eggplant color is sublime. I also like this pale spruce bag from Madewell and this pinky-tan bag from Wolf & Badger.
Sunglasses // These ZeroUV retro shades are a must have. I wear them all summer. They come in great colors with an affordable price, so when I inevitably lose them, I don’t weep over it.
Shoes // The inspiration photo has the Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes from SATC. I like these shoes, but they’re just not practical for my lifestyle. So I opted for a cool snakeskin flat instead. Looking for blue satin flats in a lower place? These Yoox flats are fantastic.
Bracelet // This wide link chain bracelet is an amazing choice for $100. Laura Lombardi has so many wonderful gold bracelets and earrings. They’re all worth a look.

Another amazing fit–I like this outfit better than the original! In that vein, anyone else feel like the Manolo wedding shoes are now reading super dated?
Hard agree on the shoes. I’m not seeing many ballet flats or flats with embellishments these days – I feel like the snakeskin is more fashionable!
I also recommend Marine Layer’s Allison pant, for those whose work place dress codes/ location temperatures would allow for it. They’ve been a regular go-to at a new, more casual work place.
How do you handle varying shades of black in an all black outfit? Feel like a sweater gets a pass as a natural fiber, but do you care if your pants don’t exactly match your blazer? I find black to be a little harsh with my coloring, but I might pair a charcoal sweater with black separates to mimic this.
LOVE this look, bookmarking! All black 4 eva.

I’ve seen other bloggers mention them, but I didn’t love the zipper pocket.
