Styling colored pants can sometimes be a challenge, but it’s such a chic look when it goes right.  The Ann Taylor pants from this morning have a lovely, soft color to them that works well with neutrals and colors in the same family.  Let’s see the Two Ways.

Pants // These AT straight pants have a very sophisticated look to them.  I love the color, the tabbed waist, and the cuffs.  Ann Taylor is having another large sale this week (selling professional clothing in 2021 is hard).  They’re offering $50 off $125, $100 off $200, and $150 off $300 on most items.

For plus-size folks, these Wit & Wisdom pants come in a darker teal, but they’re the closest I could find.

For the Office Left // The simplest way to style these pants is with an all black combo on top.  I chose this Kobi Halperin blouse because it is a workhorse in my own wardrobe.  It works for work and weekend, and has held up well over the past few years.

I wanted something a bit more relaxed, so I chose a v-neck cardigan from Banana Republic.  I also like this balloon-sleeve knit from Amazon.  Prefer a blazer?  I am still loving this puff sleeve blazer from Express.

For the shoe, my trepidation with doing a black shoe is that next to the light pants, they pop.  So your shoes are taking some of the focus away from the outfit.  This lighter-colored snakeskin flat from AT is on deep discount, but they are final sale.  If you don’t love grey, these Ann Taylor slingbacks in a black and white spot print are worth a look.

For the jewelry, because the buttons on the pants are silver, I went with white metal.  These Monica Vinader hoops are a little bit different in a good way.  The texture is a nice change from the usual.  And the Sterling Forever necklace is an <$30 option, and I love the adorable little bee on the pendant.

For the makeup, I would keep it pretty neutral.  Most of us aren’t wearing lipstick right now because, masks, but I think a berry-colored lip would be nice here.  I would also keep to a pale grey eyeshadow.

For the Office Right // This outfit has a bit more color and life to it.  The ruffle-neck blouse comes from Ann Taylor and is made in a coordinating color palette to the pants.  It’s a darker hue in the same family, and I love the impact of complement and contrast.

To bring it all together, you have two blazer/topper colors that would look best.  I would recommend gray or white.  For this photo, I chose white.  This Michael Kors blazer from Net-a-Porter is on deep discount and perfect for work.  I also like this button-less Alice + Olivia blazer.

For this look, I chose the same color palette for the shoes but in a high heel.  These Azra pumps have a really sophisticated shape to them that is modern and wearable.

I went with yellow metal on the jewelry this time.  These Missoma studs are one of my favorite pairs.  They’re simple but unique and modern.  The Vince Camuto ring has some grey-green tones in the stones, which I think pairs really well with the color palette.

For the makeup, I would look at a more nude lip because the outfit is more colorful.  I like Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk that now comes in slightly different tints for different skin tones.  I wear Original, but there’s also a Medium.
