Best Picks of 2020: My Favorite Sneaker

Dec 17, 2020

I have gym shoes for working out, but I wanted a pair of sneakers to wear with leggings while running errands, walking the dogs, or working from home.  Just something casual and comfortable.  These Adidas sneakers are them.

I chose these Adidas Cloudfoam Running Shoes for a few reasons.  First off, the sleek, all black uppers which look great with leggings.  Second, they are so light that they’re easy to wear.  And third, they are unbelievably comfortable.  I find them to be as comfortable as my slippers because they seem to mold to your feet.

I highly recommend them for every day wear.

I picked these up on your recommendation and while I’ve never worn Adidas before, they now have a unique place in my closet. The knit pattern makes them extremely versatile and of course they are very comfortable! I also like that the Adidas logo is pretty disguised on this style. I still have to have a few pairs of New Balance Classics for a more street look, but I’m really glad I swooped on these!

Have you found that they wash easily? I love wearing sneakers but I rarely am one to break out a toothbrush and deep clean them. I prefer to just throw them in the wash!

How is the sizing on these? For actual running shoes I size up from my street shoe size.

Ahh I have these and can confirm! These are my go-to shoes for walking my dog and running errands.

I’ll sound one counter note on the shoes. They are all the things described–cute, super-lightweight and well-padded. For me, the very low profile was too compressed and they felt tight on my feet and toes, maybe due to my high arches and instep. Wish they had worked!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
