The Range: A Leather Jacket for Fall

Sep 1, 2020

This fall I’m looking for way to up the style quotient on my casual attire.  Layering is going to be critical.  And an epic top layer takes the outfit from boring to superb.

Madewell is always my first choice for leather goods.  From totes to jackets, their pieces are classics that you will wear for years.  This Washed Leather Motorcycle Jacket is no exception.

The jacket has a rocker-chic that pairs well with casual pieces and brings contrast to feminine dresses.  It comes in four colors, XXS to 3X.

Need something under-$200?  This Levi’s Faux Leather Moto Jacket is a nice choice.  Plus-size?  This Hunter McGrady jacket from QVC looks like a good option.  For a truly affordable option, this <$30 grey leather jacket looks good.

Has anyone spotted any great oxblood leather jacket options lately? Madewell had this same jacket in a gorgeous oxblood shade last fall, but unfortunately it wasn’t in the budget for me at that time. Now I’ve got the spare cash, but no jacket (looks like they discontinued the color option this time around).

I’ve been striking out on Poshmark, and the search results have been sparse. If anyone’s seen anything good, please let me know. There’s no greater fashion frustration than knowing *exactly* what you want and not being able to find it anywhere!

  2. Ali says:

Oh man I loooove the color of this jacket but it’s sold out in all but XS! Anyone have a suggestion for a similar or lower priced option?

  3. Erica says:

Ohhhh, but teach me! I’ve had a mini-obsession over moto jackets for a while and haven’t pulled the trigger on any because I can’t figure out how to work it into my world. But, I so, so want to be a cool moto jacket wearing woman.

  4. Lauren says:

I have the madewell jacket featured here in Burnt Sienna, it’s georgous in person, soft and structured at the same time! Works well for petites.

  5. Chloe says:

I LOOOOVE leather jacket season. I have a black one and a tan one that I wear far too often. I have not been able to find a classy-looking moto one though in years. The tan one is more drape style and the black has a motorcycle collar but is still a little boxier with not as much hardware. They’re both BB Dakota.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
