I loved the tips from the WFH productivity article and the one on spending less time on your phone! Pre-pandemic, I had started to implement some of the strategies from How to Break Up with your Phone, which I highly recommend. If anyone is really struggling with using their phone too much, It goes more into the psychology of why our phones are addicting before setting up a game plan for using it less. https://bookshop.org/books/how-to-break-up-with-your-phone-the-30-day-plan-to-take-back-your-life/9780399581120

If you’re still looking for cookie inspiration, may I recommend these? https://www.pret.co.uk/en-GB/dark-chocolate-chunk-cookies-recipe

It’s a cafe chain in the UK who released their ‘secret’ recipe as a bit of a lockdown pick-me-up and can attest to the deliciousness (and speed to throw them together!).

  3. Jen B says:

I felt the same way (weird) about the fact that I’ve gotten a bunch of denim from Abercrombie… and liked it. Whaaat? But I have to say, their Curvy line is ACTUALLY curvy and has granted me my first well-fitting-without-tailoring shorts in years!

  4. Lindsay says:

I’ve tried both the Rael patches and the Acropass patches and the Acropass is much more effective. The Rael is fine-ish for surface acne, but doesn’t do anything for cystic acne. Acropass has worked for me 9/10 times for both surface level and cystic acne.

    • Belle says:

Agreed on effectiveness. I keep both on hand, but I cannot burn an Acropass patch on just a regular blemish. It feels wasteful.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
