The Range: Modcloth

Jun 25, 2020

Modcloth was a hot retailer for several years before fading a bit.  But if you haven’t shopped Modcloth in a while, you are missing out.  So I thought I would share some of my favorite items from their current range.

I like Modcloth because their price points run from very affordable to moderately priced.  Their quality is pretty good, usually Halogen or Madewell quality.  And they offer inclusive sizing on most of their items, so plus-size ladies can shop the same pieces as misses-size ladies.

So many cute pieces in here, thanks for sharing! ModCloth always seems to have a good retro vibe without veering into costume territory.

Can you speak to their returns policy? I always wonder about online-only merchandisers. Thanks!

    • Liz says:

It’s been a couple of years, but I’ve never had issues returning to Mod Cloth. I remember them having a fairly average return policy, and you get your refund a couple of days after they get their items back.

But of course, that maybe different now.

    • Belle says:

Have only returned with them once, but don’t remember having any issues.

I haven’t tried this brand, but that black floral skirt is going to be mine for sure. Some really cute stuff on there!

  3. Erica says:

I’m a new reader here, but really appreciate your posts and picks. I’ve never thought of myself as a Modcloth person but that first dress stopped me in my tracks! Browsing around their website now…

    Thank you!

I’m back in the office this week for the first time in three months, and the relative paucity of work break opportunities have my eyes killing me. Just snapped up my first pair of blue light-blocking glasses – thanks!

  5. caitlin F says:

I was a practically exclusive Modcloth shopper from like 2011 – 2016, but back then they rarely ran sales and as my style shifted, Modcloth’s styles were still stuck in twee retro mode.

It looks like they’ve updated their styles a bit! Or at least, offer a larger range.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
