Tuesday Outfit: A Bit of Rocker Chic

Apr 21, 2020

I had an appointment yesterday that required putting on real clothes.  It took an inordinate amount of time to figure out what to wear.  Thus, it’s time to head to Pinterest for a bit of outfit inspiration.

This week’s outfit comes from LornaLuxe, and while it may be a bit of an oldie, it is definitely a goodie.  A chic leather jacket, some comfy sneakers, and a pop of pink lipstick.  It’s giving me the shopping trip after Sunday brunch on 14th Street feels.  (It would also make a fabulous travel outfit, whenever we get to do that again.)

Jacket. BB Dakota Up to Speed Jacket ($98) // Finding a quality, affordable vegan leather jacket is difficult.  BB Dakota makes nice ones.  So does BlankNYC; their moto jacket is a blogger favorite.

If you’re looking for a high-quality, stylish leather jacket, AllSaints makes a great product.  Their Bales leather jacket is fabulous, and currently 50% off.  For something different, I like AllSaints vintage pink leather jacket.  It’s the perfect summer neutral.

Plus-size?  This ASOS Curve jacket goes up to size 26.  This Shoptiques shawl collar jacket is also worth a look.

Dress. H&M Viscose T-shirt Dress ($30) //  I love the shirttail hem on this dress.  It gives the t-shirt dress a little something extra.

I also like this Modcloth T-shirt dress; classic shape, also in plus-size.  This Naadam dress is the cool girl staple of the summer according to my Instagram stories.  And this Kenneth Cole ruched dress is a bit more flattering.

Prefer a maxi-dress?  Try this one from AG Jeans.

Sunglasses. Ray-Ban Clubmaster Sunnies ($108) // Ray-Ban is one of my favorite sunglasses brands.  Lots of classic styles, and you can often find them on sale.  These Clubmasters are no exception.

My classic gold/green aviators are also on sale.  I also wouldn’t miss these Wayfarers and tortoiseshell sunglasses with a unique shape.

Shoes. Veja Esplar Extra Whites ($90) // White sneakers are everywhere this summer.  The inspiration image has on classic Chuck Taylor low-tops.  But the brand of choice right now is Veja.  I selected their extra whites, but you could choose their classic Esplar low-tops.

Bag. Botkier Trigger Hobo Bag ($179) // The inspiration has a white bag, but if you commute on public transport, have children, or just live in the real world, that’s not a great option.

This slouchy pale grey bag is a nice alternative.  This grey small backpack from Forzieri option is also a good option.  If you want a bit of a splurge, this AllSaints Kita backpack is phenomenal.

Lipstick. Gucci Patricia Pink ($42) // If you want a little bit of luxury in your life, Gucci lipstick is a great option.  I give them as gifts because they’re a great lipstick, in fantastic colors, and just slightly opulent.

Throwing on a (vegan) leather jacket is my absolute favorite way to make an outfit. It just adds instant cool. This is such a fantastic look to replicate. I’ve got to say – it must still be pretty chilly where you are; this would be a fall outfit for me!

I’m loving all of these outfit suggestions but I agree with you. It’s 80-90 degrees where I live. We are way past leather jacket weather!

  2. Cait says:

Such a classic mix, I think if I had to choose one outfit to wear forever, this would be it.

The Rayban Clubmaster is my favorite style sunglasses. They are classic and can be funky or understated.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
