Best Picks from Sephora’s Spring Sale

Apr 20, 2020

Twice per year, Sephora hosts their Beauty Insider sales.  And after weeks of waiting, the spring sale is finally here.

If you’re a Rouge member, you can start shopping today.  VIB access starts tomorrow, and Insiders are on Thursday.  Because these sales are so rare, it’s a good opportunity to stock up on your essential skincare and makeup items, but also get a deal on that splurge you’ve been eyeing.

My Skincare Favorites. My skincare routine has simplified over the years, mostly because I no longer have time for multi-hour beauty regimens.  These are the survivors, the skincare products that I would buy again and again.

My Makeup Favorites. These are the products that I make up my every day makeup routine.

Worthy Sale Splurges. These sales are a great opportunity to snap up an expensive beauty tool or product that you’ve had your eye on for a bit.  Here are a few of the spendier tools that I’ve splurged on and love.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. You can read my full review of the Dyson hair dryer here.  It dries my hair so fast and without the scorching I’ve had with other hair dryers.

Artis Elite Mirror Palm Brush.  I have tried every foundation brush out there; these large palm brushes give the best coverage.  They also give the smoothest coverage, so you can use less product and get better coverage.

Beauty Bio GloPro Microneedling Tool.  This needling tool creates tiny punctures into the skin to help absorption of serum.  The tiny channels also generate collagen product to minimize fine lines, dark spots, and uneven texture.

Foreo Luna Mini 2. I retired my Clarisonic brush several years ago.  I replaced it with this silicone cleansing device.  It gives gentle exfoliation.

What are you eyeing during the Sephora Sale?  Are you buying new things or stocking up on stand bys?

I am still using my clarisonic from a 7? years ago – and don’t get me wrong, I love it, just stocked up on the old brush heads since I think they redesigned them with terrible reviews. What made you decide to switch, and any noted differences? I do think with the silicone there would be easier maintenance and cleaning (I’m always thoroughly grossed out by what’s under the brush head when I clean it while it charges – mine generally lives in the shower so I think that’s part of the issue).

  2. Monica T says:

I am stocking up on my standbys this sale: PTR Pro Retinoid Peptide Serum, PTR Vitamin C Power Serum and PTR Peel Pads and Max Complexion Clearing Pads, along with PTR Max Mineral Naked tinted SPF moisturizer. I’ve simplified my routine as well, but these are really great products.

I already wear fairly minimal makeup, and in isolation I don’t even bother with mascara most days. So skincare it is!

  3. Rebecca says:

I’ve got a giant sized Supergoop Play sunscreen (formerly known as Everyday). This is what my whole family uses in the summer. I’m also adding a couple of lip balms. My favorite is Milk Kush lip balm, but I’m going to try the Tatcha Camellia Spun lip balm, too. I might also stock up on the Tatcha Silken sunscreen, which I like using on my face.

  4. Becky says:

I ordered a few masks I’m excited about (namely, Drunk Elephant Babyfacial that I’ve been reading about for ages but haven’t bought), but I’m most excited about Sephora brand $5 lavender foot masks. Can’t wait to try them out!

  5. JK says:

I have been eyeing the Dr. Jart Cicapair Correcting Cream for some time based on your recommendation and am about ready to pull the trigger, but I have two quick questions: do you wear it instead of moisturizer or on top of moisturizer? and do you apply it with your fingers or a brush (or something else)?

    Thanks!

  6. Katie says:

How do you clean your ARTIS brush? Do you use their cleaning system or a cheaper alternative?

  7. M says:

Thank you for this post! For Insider access, should I be worried about things selling out! Wondering if I should snap things up around midnight…

  8. caitlin says:

I dunno, in this economy (and with all the sales that ULTA runs) 10% off feels a little insulting. I wish Sephora had upped the ante this time around.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
