Best Picks from the MM. LaFleur Sale

Mar 31, 2020

As some of you know, MM. LaFleur, like so many small businesses, is struggling in the pandemic.  They’ve offered some of their items at sale prices, but not everything is available in ever size.  I urge you to sort by size if you love MM, but I’m featuring just a few of the pieces that I love that are available in the widest range of sizes.

Their classic Sarah dress (which has been knocked off by so many other brands) is deeply discounted.  And how good is this plum color?  Also in plus.

This Walters Top in pale blue would be a fresh pairing for a summer navy suit.

The Ashley dress in Sea Glass is a fabulously versatile color choice for any season.  It pairs beautifully with any neutral color.

This soft jersey Valerie top is the perfect thing for how we’re living right now, and it’s under-$50.

This Eliza Dress is perfectly relaxed and slightly oversized.  I sometimes wear mine when I travel because it’s so easy and comfortable.

This Oliver Jacket is a modern, bold piece that easily lifts a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

This Lydia dress only comes in plus-size, and it saddens me.  Love the color.  Love the style.

I bought the Sarah dress in green. Always wanted to buy something from MM. LaFleur, and $117 seemed better than $195. I went up a size based on availability, reviews, and current couch potato life. I figured if i’s too big (hah!) I can get it tailored.

I learned about this company through your blog a few years ago when you were showcasing dresses with sleeves and pockets!! Many thousands of dollars later 😉 i have a very nice wardrobe of dresses, tops and suit separates. the Sarah and the Etsuko are some of my favorites!!

  3. LA says:

The Eliza dress is great for maternity wear and transitioning back to work postpartum.

I bought the Oliver jacket last spring and it is hands down my favorite blazer. It is so interesting but also highly professional. I wear it whenever I have a big meeting or event, I feel like I’m putting on my armor. For reference for new buyers, I’m a L, size 12/14 and wear and XL in the jacket.

I have the j crew knockoff of the sarah dress. I do love it but it has been altered twice now (hello divorce diet, goodbye 15 pounds) and wrinkles too easily. I am going to order the Sarah to replace it, just not sure on sizing. How do sizes run at MM? If i’m a 6 in dresses at J Crew, banana, etc?

    • Belle says:

So it depends on how your proportioned. If you’re equally balanced top and bottom, you’ll be true to the size guide. The size guide says I’m a 4, but I’m larger on bottom, so I’m happy in a lightly tailored 6.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
