Only he who has seen better days and lives to see better days again knows their full value. // Mark  Twain

+ How to get yourself out of survival mode during a crisis.

+ This bright, Rebecca Minkoff sweatshirt is so much fun.

+ Becoming more productive in 7 days; this actually looks doable.

+ J.Crew has all the spring colors.  I love this chiffon dress.

+ How to get the most out of using Zoom for meetings and school. Also, people are looping Zoom footage to avoid paying attention in meetings.

+ The mug for when I’m still in pajamas at noon.

+ Coronavirus could be a disaster for feminism. And so it begins.

+ Masking? I love Berryglow and the Good Night Sleep Mask.

+ A master list of interchangeable ingredients for when you’re out of things.

+ This maxi t-shirt dress and breezy cotton frock are on my spring WFH list.

+ Long Read: They knew the harassment allegations were lies, but could they prove it.

Blogging about fashion right now is a challenge.  So many of us are on work from home, and all of us are concerned about what the future looks like.  Shopping is not at the top of anyone’s mind, but everywhere I look, there’s a sale.

Today’s comes from Ann Taylor.  50-60% off everything, plus free returns with code CYBER.

I haven’t bought much during this quarantine, but I am still hoping to attend a friend’s wedding in June, so I picked up this bright yellow eyelet dress.

If you like Ann Taylor suits, they are usually excluded from sales, but not this one.  So if you work in a job that requires a suit  regularly, this is a good chance to snap up a well-made, well-priced one.

Beautiful Mark Twain quote – thank you for sharing.

How are people handling returns (the inevitable byproduct of online shopping) during stay-at-home orders? Even if our state did not have a stay-at-home order, i would not go to the local version of the store (where one exists) or to the post office (to mail the return) because I am in a vulnerable population and so do not want to be around other human bodies. The only thing i have purchased online is OTC medication, toiletries, some food. i feel like I must be missing something in my approach?

I’m still happy to read about fashion though 🙂 It’s such a nice escape I am craving it!
Maybe you can write a bit more about beauty treatments at home. Now that I’m not wearing make up everyday anymore, and I’m much too scared to touch my face…. my skin has visibly improved. (small quarantine win) But I want to do more at home treatments since my monthly laser and facials are canceled for the foreseeable future (at least 2 months)
Thanks for all your work on the blog.

Everything at Athleta is 25% off. I don’t really “need” more athleisure/gym clothes, but who doesn’t need something new and comfy to lift their spirits?

  5. MXJ says:

That NY Times story about harrassment allegations is absolutely bananas! I was riveted reading it and feel so so bad for that couple!

    • Abbie says:

I just finished reading that. I can’t even believe it. It shocks me that people will stoop so low to get what they want. Just wow.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
