Last Week’s Bestsellers: Work From Home Edition

Mar 23, 2020

Unsurprisingly, we’re all shopping less during this difficult, uncertain time.   But what we are buying definitely reflects our new reality; people are shopping for what will give them comfort as they work from home.  Here were your favorite pieces from last week.

Wit & Wisdom Absolution Jeans. An amazing jean that costs $50?  These W&W jeans have a high-rise and are constructed with mesh panels that help shape and provide some shapewear-like support.  They run a little large.  I wear a size 28/29 jean, and I’m in a 4.  But if you’re looking for an affordable flat jean to give your wardrobe a little variety, these are great.

The Book Club Blue-Light Glasses. These clear plastic glasses are my favorite for preventing eye strain while looking chic.  The clear material means they go with everything and aren’t distracting.  Looking for a cheaper option? Amazon has you covered.

Eileen Fisher Tencel Dress.  So comfortable.  Effortlessly stylish.  This t-shirt dress has a great look and is perfect for looking nice when you aren’t trying to look nice.

Veja SDU Sneakers. I was looking for a black sneaker to wear with leggings as casual wear, and Veja these ones look fabulous.  Sporty but slightly dressy, these are a great option.

Gibson Fleece Top.  We’ve entered the slightly chilly spring, and I was looking for a top that was warm and cozy.  This Gibson top checked all the boxes.  It’s great for layering under a jacket on walks or wearing solo with jeans.

L’Occitane Hand Cream.  If washing frequent hand washing has your skin feeling like a piece of fine-grit sand paper, this L’Occitane hand cream for you.  No harsh scent.  No greasy feeling.  And it comes in minimal packaging that fits perfectly in your purse or pocket.

I ordered those blue light glasses off of Amazon as soon as you posted about them last week. Wearing them today and finally the constant headache I had all of last week has subsided. Thank you!

I tried the amazon link to the blue light glasses and they came today. They are great! two pairs for the price, lightweight, stylish and very comfortable My only regret is that i realized i need them with reading glass lenses 🙁 so i am returning them – but if I didn’t need the reading lens i would have loved these!!

I’d LOVE to shop more… unfortunately, I’m hanging on by an anxiety drive thread that I may lose my job.

And that’s completely understandable. For some, they will be lucky and the world will restart and so will their lives for the most part. Others aren’t in that boat, and that’s obvious. I’m just trying to serve both, and it’s a struggle when a lot of what a fashion blog is is making recommendations of things for people to buy.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]

The Find: My Best Workout Shorts

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
