The Best Post-Holiday Sales

Dec 30, 2019

Now that the holiday season has ended, retailers are emptying their shelves and stockrooms in preparation for the coming spring. Here are the best sales (and the best items from those sales) for those who love a good deal.

Nordstrom // Half-Yearly Sale, runs through January 2.

My Best Jewelry Picks (the best section of this sale is jewelry, hands down). Anna Beck Hammered Ring // Long Paperclip Necklace // G-Pearl Drop Earrings

My Best Picks. Bernardo Packable Down Coat // 1.State Button-Side Turtleneck // Free People Square-Neck Bodysuit // Madewell Sweater Dress  (also in plus-size)

Athleta // Semi-Annual sale, for all your New Year Resolution needs.

My Best Picks. 24/7 Funnel Neck Sweatshirt // Pacifica Wrap Front Top // Elation Tight

Everlane // Rarely hosts sales. This week, they have a Final Sale section, and expanded Choose What You Pay section.

My Best Final Sale Picks. Texture Cotton Crewneck Sweater // Cotton Collarless Shirtdress

My Best Choose What You Pay Picks. Denim Jacket // Cashmere Turtleneck Dress

Bluemercury // 20% off purchases of $150 or more, code GIFT20.

My Best Picks. PMD Personal Microderm Device // Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick // M-61 Vitablast C Hand Cream

Anthropologie // Extra 40% off sale items, no code needed. Limited time only.

My Best Picks. Thalia Midi Dress (petite + plus) // Beauty Advent Calendar // Katie May LBD

Boden // Semi-Annual Sale, up to 60% off everything site wide.

My Best Picks.  Katrina Bow Heels // Farleigh Dress Coat // British Tweed Pencil Skirt

Eloquii // Plus-size fashion, semi-annual clearance sale, up to 80% off.

My Best Picks.  Slit Sleeve Work Dress // Slim Trouser // Twist Front Peplum Blouse

Take advantage of the last of the winter sales by selecting pieces that are classic, that you will want to wear next winter, or that will transition into spring well.  Don’t snap up the trendy pieces, if they don’t fit with your style long-term.  Happy shopping!

I bought the cognac heeled boot from Everlane’s sale and their renew fleece zip-up from the final sale section. Also, I have the cashmere sweater dress and I’m obsessed with it!

I had a hard time getting excited about shopping this year, which I guess is a good thing. My classics I invested in last year held up and I only needed a little thing here or there to complete an outfit. That said, my growing 6-year old needs new clothes ALL THE TIME and a lot of these sales apply to the kids line of these brands too. Great deals!

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
