5 Pairs of Pajamas Because It’s Cold

Nov 14, 2019

My house is freezing.  That’s what insulation made pre-1960 will get you, chills.  So I need pajamas to stay warm.  And with the holidays coming for us at bullet-train speeds, we should probably talk about good pajamas.

My go-to spots to buy pajamas: Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack.  I find the coziest, most comfortable, good quality pajamas.   I feel no need to branch out.  If you have a spot that you love, feel free to leave it in the comments.

Nordstrom Moonlight Pajamas

The best. My favorite.  So cozy, but still lightweight enough for year-round wear.  Owned them for 1+ years, washed over 100 times, just starting to look like I might need to think about a replacement in three-is months.  Also in plus.

PJ Salvage Print Flannel Pajamas

Nordstrom Flannel Jogger PJs (also in plus)

Everly Grey Maternity/Post Partum Pajamas

PJ Salvage Just Peachy Pajamas

I love PJ Salvage, too! But my favorite PJ sets come from GAP. The key is to buy them on Black Friday, when they’re 50% off (usually makes them ~$30).

Have you looked into getting an energy audit of your home performed by your local electric company? There may be some small changes you can make that will improve the comfort in your home. We owned a c. 1915 duplex and we did add insulation to the attic, foamed around windows, etc. and it all made a noticeable difference.

My son is at the age when he wants the same pajamas as me, so I buy ours at Hanna Andersson. The quality is top-notch, they’re often made with organic cotton, and they have plenty of prints and stripes to choose from.

The ‘Stars Above’ line at Target is so, so soft and holds up incredibly well!

Last winter, I tried Soma for PJs. They’re soft, comfortable, and great quality. Bonus for those of us who are on the shorter or taller side – their PJ bottoms come in different inseams! I like both the Embraceable and Cool Night Sleep and now own several sets. soma.com has frequent sales.

Soma makes excellent PJs! I got my first pair years ago as a gift and now I get a new pair every year. Fun prints, good Black Friday deals, and they hold up really well with multiple washings (over several years!).

Allow me to introduce the plush, zip front caftan for winter. https://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/p/natori-leopard-pattern-plush-zip-front-caftan-prod151220234

I just bought one and it is LIFE CHANGING. It’s warm, comfy and surprisingly chic with the stand up collar and rolled cuffs. I ordered mine from Bergdorf Goodman, but you can find them in several styles at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Amazon, etc.

  7. Julia says:

I just got some really cute soft ones from Soma… are they an old lady brand?? I dunno. I just know they’re soft, have pockets, and the satin front top is a little glam.

  8. Katie says:

Especially this time of year, Costco has some great pajama options!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
