Ask the Edit: A Courthouse Wedding

Oct 24, 2019

Hi Belle,

My wedding date is in January, and I need a dress.  We’re having a pop-up wedding at a local restaurant.  Not courthouse, but only 25 people.  I’d like something white (or white-ish).  Doesn’t need to be a gown, but it should look like a wedding gown that’s ready for a party.  Should cost less than $1,000.

Can’t wait to see your suggestions.  Bride-to-Be.

After choosing my own wedding dress, I can tell you how important it is to find a style that works for your body type.  Not knowing yours, I can only guess.  But if you’re looking for a party dress, I’m here to help.

This sparkly, flirty Jenny Yoo Lorimer Dress is the epitome of a party dress.  It’s stylish, looks comfortable, and the flutter sleeve and plunged back are nothing if not fun.  If you’d like something similar in a true party dress, this Retrofete mini dress has a similar feel.

This Lynnette gown from Watters has a corset top and a full, flirty skirt.  It’s the perfect dress for spinning and twirling the night away.  The dress has a lovely femininity to it.

Best wishes on your wedding.  Please enjoy every moment of it.

I just got married this past weekend and wore the Jenny Yoo Sarita dress. It’s available at BHLDN and ~$300! Alterations were super easy and it was sooo comfortable. Highly recommend!!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
