Fashion is Details, my favorite board on Pinterest. Â It’s a collection of photos celebrating the little extras that make fashion fun, from beading and bows, to beautiful embroidery. Â But my favorite fashion detail is something I call ‘drama in the back.’
If it’s backless, I want it. Â If it’s got a bow-back, I need it. Â Sheer shoulder? Â Sign me up. Â I like a dress or blouse that looks good walking away.

This is a tad cruel, but I do love reminding “hard seltzer” drinkers that they are drinking cleverly marketed malt liquor 🙂
I don’t mind that it’s cleverly marketed malt liquor and reminding me doesn’t hurt my feelings or anything. I tried a Smirnoff variety pack a few months ago and now I’m a fan (except for the watermelon flavor). I’m fine with being part of a mocked trend. Cheers!
I absolutely love Truly but hate basically every other brand because it has a fake sugar taste. I’d prefer drinking a bud light over the other brands. Is there a malt liquor that’s similar to Truly?
Maybe I bought the marketing, but I truly (sorry, had to do it) believe it tastes different than malt beverages and other spiked seltzers I’ve had. Id be happy to try any branded beverage, whether it’s malt liquor or spiked seltzer if it did as long as it isn’t sweet.
Or just stick with gin and tonics…but they don’t make those canned yet. (Need it to be canned so I can bring it into race events, no glass allowed).

The Amazon fires may not be the result of climate change, but they are a result of the same deregulation and man-made impact that is accelerating climate change. From the BuzzFeed article linked above: “Wildfires occurring in the tropical forest today are the result of human activity and droughts, the agency said.”
The burning of the Amazon is heartbreaking and the lack of media coverage makes it worse. I wish there is something more I can do other than donating to conservation charities. The effect of this loss will be everlasting.
The forgiveness article reflects a lot of what Archbishop Desmond Tutu said about forgiveness- https://www.theforgivenessproject.com/desmond-tutu. Clarifying these points really helped me get over tough patches in the past.
On a light note, I love boat neck tops and dresses!
Obsessed with office wear that looks sporty. Banana Republic had a great line with a lot of pieces like this last fall, I think. Blends my love of crossfit and conservative investment banking.
I read that resume article earlier and was bummed that it ended with the fact that it came via a personal connection. Mostly because if companies are only taking on people who have personal connection to someone already working there those companies are missing out on SO MUCH talent.
I have that Halogen skirt (or nearly the same) and it’s incredibly useful. Comfortable, doesn’t wrinkle or ride up. Washes well. I might get a spare myself. 🙂
I love the back details. I’m a conductor, so I am always on the hunt for black professional clothing that is interesting from the back. I especially love shoes with an interesting heel detail.
The whole straw discussion is strange to me. Unless medically necessary, straws are pretty childish in my opinion.

I like using a straw, but when the whole thing came out about plastics, I did wonder why people just couldn’t drink from a glass as opposed to carrying their own washable metal straws.

I really appreciate the article on forgiveness. Yes, I can forgive you without faking amnesia about the events of the past. I can also forgive you and walk away from you to protect myself. So true that forgiveness really is more about the person forgiving than the person that committed the alleged transgression
