Five Sale-Priced Cole Haan Shoes for Spring

Mar 12, 2019

This is an unpopular opinion, but since Cole Haan ditched their partnership with Nike Air, I think the shoes are actually more comfortable.  And if you have a serious job, few brands understand your style and comfort needs like Cole Haan.  So come with me to Nordstrom Rack for a little spring shoe shopping.

These simple, black Bambra Skimmers ($89) are a workhorse in any season.

The Tali Bow Skimmers ($89) add a bit of feminine whimsy to a simple work flat.

Need color?  These Elsie Bow Flats ($89) are the pop of Barbie pink everyone needs.

These Vesta pumps ($99) in a mushroom-brown are a great alternative to “nude” shoes for Spring.

Business casual or weekend, these mauve mules ($99) have you covered.

I love the grey with the bow details but do tell, what is your opinion on “toe cleavage”? Is it really a travesty or is it OK to rock shoes that show a bit?

    • Crystal says:

My unsolicited opinion is that toe cleavage is a bizarre non-issue and you should wear whatever shoes you want that (1) are sufficiently comfortable, (2) look good on you and make you feel good, and (3) allow you to walk as needed (including distance and not tripping). If someone thinks exposed toes remind them of breasts (THE HORROR) and that that is unacceptable or too distracting, then the problem is with them.

    • Belle says:

I have pairs that do and pairs that don’t. I consider it a non-issue. They’re toes, I’ve never understood the use of the word cleavage to imply they are somehow inappropriate.

    • Meg says:

Another vote for toe cleavage is not a thing. But maybe take mine with a grain of salt, because I also firmly believe that VPL is not a thing and is just a tool of the patriarchy!

    • Anna says:

I don’t like toe cleavage, but I don’t think it’s trashy. I just don’t like how it looks (I generally hate feet). I do think it’s weird when people find toe cleavage sexy, like boob cleavage.

Anyone else feel like Cole Haan quality has slipped? Last year I bought a pair at a Cole Haan retail (ie not the outlet) location and wore less than a dozen times before returning because the sole separated from the upper. For a full refund… but it turned me off future purchases.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
