Help Me Join the #SephoraSquad

Feb 19, 2019

I don’t work with brands and retailers very often.  The primary reason is that I want to choose the things I endorse, not have them chosen for me.  Recently, I was invited to apply for Sephora’s new affiliate program, #SephoraSquad.

A partnership with Sephora would give me the opportunity to work with a fabulous retailer and share products from a wide variety of lines and brands.  I wouldn’t feel pressured to promote products that I don’t love because Sephora has so many amazing offerings, many of which I already endorse.

To apply, I had to answer a fairly long questionnaire about my blog, my readers, an my style.  They’ve also asked for reader testimonials discussing why you read this site and why you trust my reviews.  You can find my review site, here.

50 of you were already kind enough to share testimonials on my behalf.  I hope a few more of you will join them because this could be a great opportunity for me to have some sponsored content without sacrificing authenticity and perspective.

(Plus, who wouldn’t want to be in whatever club Sephora was creating?  Amirite?)

You’ve influenced many of my purchase choices for the better. Thanks for being an important, interesting, and trustworthy voice.

  20. Kate says:

Submitted. Good luck with the process. You’re the best source of fashion insight and beauty reviews for professional women that I’ve found and a much needed voice in those industries. And your headings are so witty!

  22. Violet says:

I submitted mine. You are honest and genuine and deserve this. I buy things so much more often when they are endorsed by you than by other “influencers”. I know I am getting an honest response from you. xoxo

How to Wear It: A Summer Shirtdress

A girlfriend texted me Saturday with a question that was uniquely D.C. Her office is no longer suits and sheath dresses, but it’s not jeans and athleisure either. “Can an office be ‘semi-formal’?,” she pondered. “What do I wear for that?!” Enter the shirtdress, the solution for summer.
