A Day Off, to Rest Up for Monday

Jan 11, 2019

When I started in government, I was 22.  Being at work at 8:00am, leaving at 7:00pm, no problem.  But after a couple of years away, this 7:00am to after sundown schedule is too much for my old bones.

Especially when I come home at night and try to grind out some blog posts, while my attention-starved pups climb all over me looking for snuggles.  So last night, I decided to put my fur babies first, and spend the evening letting Kyle try to convince me The Office is a great TV show.

I’ll see you ladies on Monday.  Oh, and there’s a big announcement coming next week, and you do not want to miss it.

xoxo, aB

I always HATED The Office until I got pregnant and then I thought it was the funniest show. I still think it’s funny, but not like when I was pregnant.

Have a great weekend and cheers to some high-quality relaxing!

    • Kate says:

That is so funny–I hadn’t thought of it this way until your comment but I do think being pregnant has changed my sense of humor! What a weird stage in life this is!

  2. Laura says:

The Office IS a great show! 🙂 Have a great weekend, Abra!

    • Belle says:

I have trouble with comedy where we pick on someone and laugh at them, or someone (Michael) acts ridiculous and everyone mocks him. But a lot of the later seasons, there is less of that, so I find those really funny.

  3. Jessica says:

Ugh, what a cliff-hanger! Can’t wait to hear it. Hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

  4. Sarah says:

Enjoy the weekend and the downtime. Sounds like you’ve earned it.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
