Item of the Week: Stylish Crossbody Bags

Nov 2, 2018

Crossbody bags are the best choice for travel, for the weekend, an extra bag to keep in your oversized work tote.  But is it possible to find a well-made, stylish crossbody for under-$75?

This simple cognac crossbody ($68) from Urban Originals is a nice option.  I also like their Perfect World bag with a sleek shape and minimalist design.

Looking for something cool, almost rocker-chic?  This black bag with black hardware from Pixie Mood is unbelievably cool.

For something uniquely feminine, this Easton colorblock clutch has a lovely blush color and a modern clasp.  Or if you’re just looking for a bit of color, try this green Street Level clutch.

Love the cognac bag, great color and I am a huge cross body fan, so easy when walking any where.

These are cute bags! I love the shape of the Street Level bag.

I also have this one from Anthro and freaking love it: https://goo.gl/HX8Rh6. I get so many compliments and it definitely looks more expensive than it is.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about what makes a quality bag. Really, about quality in general. How do you evaluate?

    • Belle says:

First, the strap and handles. It should be stable and the clasps holding it to the bag should be strong.

Second, the stitching on the interior and exterior. It should be tight, look secure, etc.

Third, the material. It should look like a more expensive product with no obvious flaws.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
