Fashion Is in the Details

Nov 1, 2018

I love when clothing has little, special details — a tiny bow, a cool button, a unique print.  I even have a whole Pinterest board called Fashion is Details.  Here are a few blouses that capture the little extras that make a piece of clothing fun.

Carlotta Lacy Trim Blouse ($99)

Bryn Button Sleeve Sweater ($36)

Madewell Eyelet Ruffle Blouse (plus and misses, $90)

Iris & Ink Bow Detail Blouse (three colors, $90)

Ellery Soft Pearly Sweater ($79)

Sheer Velvet Top ($39)

I’m just imagining trying to put a coat on over that bow blouse and getting more tangled than as a kid with my mittens on a string! It’s gorgeous, though!

Lol. I imagined my cat leaping after the wrist ties…

The details are cute but I often worry about the details being too trendy.

OMG that velvet top is gorgeous. I love the price point too!

I LOVE the last top! OMG it is just gorgeous….although I worry I am too pale and my bust is too big to pull it off, but it is stunning.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
