7 Affordable Swimsuits for Summer

May 15, 2018

Sure, a swimsuit is not professional attire.  But we work to enjoy the fruits of our labor, and hopefully, those fruits include a beach, lake or poolside vacation.  So let’s talk about affordable swimwear, because we need to save our pennies for our workwear.

Old Navy Off-the-Shoulder Suit ($30)

Express Ruffle Triangle Top ($21)

Merona Laser Cut One Piece ($35)

Sea Angel Floral Bikini ($45)

ASOS Tie Back Swimsuit ($64)

Old Navy Wrap Front Swim Top ($15)

H&M+ Shaping Suit ($35)

I’ll give a shout out to Aerie bathing suits. I own a few of their one piece suits and they’re of great quality and they come in a range of sizes and colors.

  2. Liz says:

As a woman with a long torso, I almost jumped for joy when I saw aerie offers one pieces with a “Long” size option. Last time I bought a one piece (10 years ago….) I had to size up 3 sizes just to accommodate my long middle. Bought my first one piece in a decade this year, in my normal size!

  3. Jen says:

I just got the Merona laser cut one piece. It’s great, so much better than I expected.

  4. Nicole says:

Swimsuits for all has pretty affordable suits! I have a bigger chest, so this year I am trying something with underwire, and I have found a lot of tops under $40. Much cheaper than Lane Bryant or Torrid, even on sale!

  5. Jules says:

ok but for real hooooow do I get abs and arms like the girl in the Express pink suit? #GOALS

  6. Nellie says:

I cannot say enough good things about Land’s End bathing suits. Although they may not be as “affordable” as these, they are super-customizable for body type/needs, including petite and plus, down to the type of bra and leg cut. You can also mix and match sizes for top and bottom of two-pieces. They also wear like iron. As someone petite, plus-sized, and needing a lot of support in the bust, I feel like so many of the “cheaper” options out there just aren’t going to cut it for me.

I wanted to add one more recommendation: Uniqlo WOMEN PRINCESSE TAM.TAM SWIM BOTANICAL HALTER ONE-PIECE: https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/women-princesse-tam.tam-swim-botanical-halter-one-piece-408253.html

Added bonus is that they have matching ones for little girls.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
