Need a weekend jacket for spring?  These pale neutral moto jackets are the on-trend choice.

Rebecca Taylor Zip Front Moto Jacket ($795)

Cubicle Farm

Trouve Bonded Moto Jacket ($139)

I bought this jacket this weekend.  It runs big, but is very stylish.

I purchased a light tan suede moto jacket a couple of years ago on impulse and almost returned it a few times, with my mom convincing me not to. It has served me so well since. A good transition piece that can cover casual Friday to cocktails, or pair with jeans, flats and a tee for weekends. Can not recommend it enough!

  2. Denise says:

I saw that moto jacket in Old Navy just the other day and loved it! I’m not typically an Old Navy girl but this is so cute and looks much more expensive than it is!

  3. RKT says:

I have the Old Navy jacket in maroon from last fall, and it’s very comfortable; if someone doesn’t like wearing suede or leather because they don’t stretch, it’s a great option because it’s very flexible. Unfortunately the Rose color that they have this spring is a lot closer to salmon- a lot of orange in it – so I can’t recommend that as a ‘neutral.’

I have the Old Navy jacket in the color shown (they call it grey but it is closer to the off white color in the picture) and it is amazing! I can’t recommend it enough, I want it in all of the colors.

    hey guys,
just want to make sure you know the writer of this blog was or is still a lobbyist for the NRA.
    have a good day!

    • Belle says:

      Was. Not still is.

I grew up in a rural place, have been a gun owner all of my adult life, as a victim of domestic violence believe ardently in the right of self defense, and support common sense gun reforms like banning bump stocks, limiting the sale of semi-auto rifles, and universal background checks. I went to work for the NRA because I support the Second Amendment, I left because I didn’t agree with the tactics used by Wayne LaPierre.

Further, leaving this comment as if being a gun owner, who wanted to be an advocate for other moderate gun owners is some kind of slur and then following it up with have a good day is so deeply passive aggressive it hurts.

    • LM says:

I think most readers are aware of who Abra’s former employer is, and she keeps her blog politics-free. So now we shouldn’t be reading someone’s fashion/work/kickass feminist blog if we don’t agree with their politics? Personally I believe it’s this level of divisiveness that’s a large part of the problem with the current state of affairs.

Abra – Thank you for all of the amazing content. I’ve been reading your blog since I moved to DC in 2010, and it’s the only one I continue to visit daily.

    • Margaret says:

      Urgh. Go away.

    • Sally says:

I was actually just thinking the other day that it would be amazing if NRA members revolted and chose an actual sensible gun-owner like Abra to lead, instead of a nutjob industry shill. (I think polls show most gun owners hold significantly more liberal positions towards gun control than the NRA). I’m pretty liberal but I’ve been impressed with her thoughtfulness and professionalism in addressing both fashion and political issues.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
