Your favorite pens just made my heart skip a beat. My Grandmere always had boxes of those too. My brother and I used to go to her house after school and help her write checks to pay her bills every month– she had macular degeneration and was going blind, but she could still see the line of those felt-tip pens long after ballpoints faded out of her sight. I can’t see one of those without also seeing her tiny cramped signature in thick black ink.

Sadly (?) these are no longer available, but I still get a chuckle reading customer reviews for the Bic Cristal for Her Ball Pen https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Cristal-1-0mm-Black-MSLP16-Blk/dp/B004F9QBE6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8. Don’t despair though, Amazon still sells the entire line of “for her” writing implements.
Admittedly, I’m a hopeless romantic at heart, but #13 seems to be missing the point. Of course you won’t know someone is the person you’re going to marry, or more importantly if that marriage will work out, but you can feel someone is going to be important to you. And I don’t think it’s going to be because of the fairly shallow points she’s mentioning! And like all things, you can feel something is true, but you still have to gather evidence to back it up. So maybe some people know and some people don’t know, and some people choose the practical partnering up by checking items off of a wishlist (good hair, good job, loves his family?) and some people choose to wait for a “feeling”. I”m sure the writers of these articles figure 50% of the population will relate to being stymied in love and just write it out, but I think human relationships are a little more complicated than “love at first sight is BS”.

I can’t speak to anyone else, but, I absolutely knew I would marry my husband about 3 dates in. It was just different from anyone else. Our theory is that once you are mature enough, you know whether or not it’s going to work out-are those quirks or annoyances, can you deal with the little signs, are they indicators of larger trouble, are you willing to see this thing through, etc. We’ve been together almost 20 years, so, I think it worked out.
I really wanted to love Velvet Teddy but it ended up being almost the exact shade of my natural lip color. I am still on the hunt for a nice nude-ish pink-ish lipstick. I have a bunch of bright pinks I love, but sometimes I want to look more conservative.
