Thanks for the tip on that Ann Taylor sale! LOTS of stock – just picked up 5 items.

  2. Nellie says:

How do you like Orange is the New Black? Is this the most recent season?

    • Belle says:

I like it, I find it tough to watch at times. Mostly, the writers are too good at tapping into your emotions.

  3. Lindsey says:

I work for a philanthropic foundation that provides scholarships to women with demonstrated financial need across 9 southern states. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) report that’s referenced in the Elle article linked above has been big news for our office! I doubt anyone that works in higher education was surprised by these findings, but it’s nice as someone personally and professionally interested in women’s education to see data that reflects yet another challenge we face. The full article is about 60 pages but it’s a great read, highly suggest it. (https://www.aauw.org/research/deeper-in-debt/)

  4. Valerie says:

About #7- I’m always skeptical about online tips from a life coach, because they’re usually a bunch of aphorisms and platitudes that I could also find in a collection of fortune cookies. But Man Repeller is a no-bullshit kind of blogger (a feature she and Belle have in common), so if she/her team posts something labeled *actually helpful* I read it. And I’m actually going to sit down and do the thought exercise suggested in the last tip, thinking not just about a vague, abstract “future” but about specific areas in my life and how dreams/goals translate into realistic actions.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

Three Outfits I’ll Wear All Spring

When I started this blog, influencers still re-wore clothes. There were no haul videos filled with the latest from Shein before it winds up in a beach in Ghana poisoning the planet. There were no sponsored campaigns delivering fresh wardrobes each month. The content machine doesn’t like reruns.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
