Blush Mules Frye Ellie Loafer ($248) // Linea Paolo Annie Loafer ($110) // BP. Maddy Mule ($70)

Ankle Wrap Gianvito Rossi Petra Pumps ($825) // J.Crew Sophia Pumps ($179) // Nine West Andrea Pump ($81)

If you’re in the market for trendy spring shoes, these blush mules and ankle wrap pumps fit the bill.  I chose blush mules because they have nice mix of masculine and feminine.  For a bold look, try them with chiffon spring dresses.  They’d also look amazing with a pair of white bootcut jeans.

For the ankle wrap pumps, the sky is the limit.  I would wear that Nine West pair everywhere.  But I would be especially excited to wear them with this ice blue Talbot’s sheath dress.

I don’t care how trendy they are, I just can’t get behind mules. They are fug grandma shoes IMO! I love the color, but fuggggggg.

Anyone else have a hard time reconciling the suede shoe trend with spring and summertime wear? I always thought suede was more of a fall/winter fabric. Also, I feel like suede is so impractical if you live in a climate with unpredictable wet weather. Love the majority of the shoe styles, just wish they were in a more seasonable fabric!

  3. Mary says:

My instep is really high, so mules often make my foot sore from the pressure on the top of the foot. I wore them when they were popular a few years ago, but I’ll pass this time around in favor of happy feet.

And suede – It seems like muted-pastel suede is everywhere right now. They are beautiful. I kind of like them for spring when you still need to dress for cooler temps, but like Melinda, I don’t think they’ll wear well into summer temps. But the Nine West shoes with the Talbot’s ice blue sheath would be divine. I’m apparently conflicted on this issue!

Thirding not being with it on the mules; even trendy, they look outdated and clunky to me. I haven’t seen them worn in a flattering way yet.

Also, suede + spring doesn’t make sense to me. A spring color with an autumn/winter fabric is strange to me.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
