What I’m Making This Weekend. Smitten Kitchen’s Tiramisu with store bought lady fingers, because I’m not a martyr.

What I’m Trying Out. I’ve never been much for keeping a journal.  But Hitha raves about this guided Five Minute Journal, so I bought one.  Maybe it will help with my insomnia?

What I’m Reading. I needed something light post-bar exam, so I picked up The Princess Diarist. So funny.

  1. SSC says:

My first question about the Jameis Winston story is why on earth someone thought it was a good idea to have him speak to elementary school kids.

  2. heatherskib says:

SSC- I know, right!!!!! The man is an accused rapist, previously suspended for hollering obnoxious comments about women from a table top in the middle of the student union. He has a bad habit of “forgetting to pay” and has been questioned regarding property damages in Tallahassee. This man is NOT a role model! That PR rep needs to be suspended!

  3. Hitha Palepu says:

YESSSSS Five Minute Journal! I loved the Princess Diarist so much, and am deep in a Carrie Fisher reading binge.

  4. Betsy says:

Who is asking Jameis Winston to speak anywhere, much less to kids? He’s awful.

Those Splendid shoes are great! It’s 80 degrees in Austin today – I wish I had these to wear tonight!

  5. Dev says:

No way is that jacket waterproof.

  6. Dev says:

Thank you for doing the correction! There is a big difference between waterproof and not; unfortunately I have been unlucky enough to have lived in a climate where it mattered.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
