1) Maybe cursing at work isn’t as taboo as you thought (I couldn’t agree less.). (Popsugar)

2) I’m kind of in love with this Louise et Cie satchel; we all know how I feel about a snakeskin print.

3) Childless, but not quite by choice.  How not making a decision is a decision. (Refinery29)

4) Antonio Melani does it again, this black and pink sheath is so pretty, as is the kick-pleat skirt on this navy suit.

5) Decades in the making, the writing of Fidel Castro’s obituary. (The New York Times)

6) I found two pieces of jewelry at Nordstrom that I have to have: this Soko Horn Line Ring with a gorgeous natural look, and this sleek Jules Smith Tulum Cuff that is perfect for layering.

7) Meet the glammed-out, kickass attorney fighting ‘revenge porn’ and empowering her clients. (New Yorker)

8) If you need cocktail dresses, look at H&M.  I love this longsleeve, white lace dress and this simple LBD.

9) Six things you need to know about job hunting when you’re already employed. (The Everygirl)

10) At $1.19, every woman I know is getting this brilliant nail polish holder in her stocking.

  1. The horn ring looks nice but what does “horn” mean, exactly.

  2. kate says:

LOL, I tend to paint my nails with them facing me (claw fashion) so that polish holder would be a disaster! It is a clever idea, though.

  3. M says:

Re: cursing at work, I think it totally depends on the setting. In team settings, I know many people who curse because it’s an informal culture. However, in front of a senior leader or client, absolutely not. 55-60% having cursed in some work context seems normal or low to me.

  4. Jenn S. says:

Also re: cursing at work – yeah, obviously not in front of clients or stakeholders or Big Bosses (otherwise that shows you have exceptionally poor judgment), but with the team? It has never been an issue in a place I’ve worked, and if it is, I don’t want to work there.

IMO, people are too sensitive about profanity, though, so I’m biased. There is a marked difference between, “F*** that guy/you/etc,” and, “Oh, I f***ed that up!” I ALSO work in an incredibly male dominated industry (IT) FWIW.

    • Monica T says:

I also work in IT and have to agree. I’m not going around cursing all day or anything, but there is a time and a situation that calls for a well-placed expletive. It’s chicken or egg on whether I’m suited for this job because I’m a little rough around the edges and fit in as one of the guys, or if I’m like that because I’ve worked with 100% men my entire career, that’s too meta for me to answer here. But when things go sideways on a project or after a few drinks at a happy hour it’s completely acceptable to me.

  5. Amber says:

#3 rings incredibly true, even at 36. At 27, I married a man I knew wasn’t sure about having a baby. At 28, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that made pregnancy/motherhood more risky. And though we’ve not taken any steps to permanently prevent parenthood, in my heart, I know we won’t have children. And truly, I’m ok with that. But I can’t say I don’t have those twinges of motherly yearnings when my friends announce pregnancies and adoptions. I sometimes feel like that rare woman who could have children, and who truly loves children, yet doesn’t have any of her own. Glad to know I’m not alone after all.

  6. Anna says:

#3 resonated with me as well. I’m 31 in a long-term, long-distance relationship. We’re two years into being apart with no clear end in sight and professional logistics that make it difficult to be in the same place for the foreseeable future. We’re both feeling ready to start a family, but I’m obviously under more biological pressure. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how our complacency might affect the likelihood of a future family. In my case though, I definitely want children and having and raising kids of my own (whether biological or adopted) is something I see as essential to my living a complete and fulfilling life (which is surprising to some considering I’m otherwise not a kid person).

  7. Jamie says:

The H&M dresses are beautiful and sold out in almost all sizes 🙁

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

For eight years, I have worn the same workout shorts. Every year, an influencer tries to sell me new shorts. I order them. I try them on. They pale in comparison to the shorts I already own. I return them.
