I dream about fashion.  No, really.  Sometimes I’ll have a dream, and when I wake up, all I remember is what I was wearing.  Last night, I was wearing this gorgeous ivory coat.  Now, I have coats on the brain.

story time – my girlfriend was packing to sell their house and move. I went over to chat and help. She handed me a long ivory BR wrap coat, looks similar to #1 (but I don’t think closer to #2 pricetag) and said, “Here. You have this. I never wear it. I’m too scared of staining it.”

And have it I do. Love that thing.

Love the Joseph wrap coat! Thanks to a massive markdown, I was lucky enough to snap up this DVF wrap coat (similar in execution to your first suggestion) in bordeaux. And every day I’ve worn it I’ve received compliments.

I haven’t checked their coat selection recently, but I highly recommend Bluefly’s designer coat sales. A couple years ago I bought a beautiful ivory wool T Tahari wrap coat for under-$150 from Bluefly that regularly costs $500. It’s tricky to keep clean, but I get my Olivia Pope moments during the winter without an Olivia Pope budget.
