BaubleBar Piñata Earrings ($36)
The older I get, the more casual holiday events become. Baby bottles replace champagne bottles, jeans replace LBDs, and I start to think that maybe all glamour is lost. But whether you’re wearing jeans, a wrap dress, or evening attire, you can bring a little party to your look with a cool pair of earrings.
I like these BaubleBar Piñata Earrings that come in 13 great colors. They also come in a shorter ‘mini’ style. And if you want to save money on more than one color, their gift box features three shades for $68.
Not loving the tassel style? These Alexis Bittar drop earrings have a smoky neutral look to them that’s very sophisticated. I also like the way these Kara Ross Nugget Drops mix white and yellow metal. For something under-$25, these sea-green cabochon drops are pure elegance.
If drop earrings are not your thing, I recommend ear crawlers or ear jackets. This simple Gorjana style has a hint of sparkle. This dainty Leah Alexandra pair features moonstones. I own these Nadri ear jackets and they have never let me down.
Any leads on places that make modern, stylish clip-on earrings? I can’t wear pierced earrings anymore because of allergies, but I don’t have problems with my other jewelry, so I’ve been thinking of trying clip-ons.
Macy’s always seems to have a wide selection. I know the Monet brand and the Kenneth Jay Lane brand make them.
“The older I get, the more casual holiday events become. Baby bottles replace champagne bottles, jeans replace LBDs, and I start to think that maybe all glamour is lost.” So much truth in this, I’ve been reflecting on this same realization myself lately as I look at all these wonderful dresses hanging in my closet that will make me look out of place in all aspects of my life: family gatherings, friend outings, and my casual office.
I just wear them anyway, at least whenever I can justify it.
