Item of the Week: Leather Skirts

Ann Taylor Leather Pencil Skirt (also in petite, $89 + 40% off)

Want to jazz up your basic knits and blouses?  Pick up a leather skirt.  The contrast between the soft, ladylike tops and leather bottoms is a nice take on the masculine/feminine trend.

I prefer not to buy black leather skirts; they feel a bit severe to me.  Instead, I chose this Ann Taylor skirt in pine green.  I also love this Rebecca Taylor skirt in cognac with a kick hem.  This grey Tommy Hilfiger skirt is an affordable choice.  And if you love burgundy (fall’s hottest hue) this midi-length skirt from Oliveacious ($48!) is a great buy.

Plus-size?  I love this dusty pink Ashley Nell pleated skirt and this grey Melissa McCarthy skirt for something more modern.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
