It’s 2:00AM. I’ll let others who are more qualified talk about the election. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, I think we could all use a politics free space. I’d rather talk about shoes, anyway.

Oh good. I bought it for a job interview later this week. I will call it my “I slay” suit. Pretty excited about it.
I know you’ve done a post on this before, but can you touch back on colored suits? I really love the one you posted, especially at that price, but unsure if it would be too ‘loud’ for my conservative workplace. Thoughts?
The first rule is, you have to tailor the s**t out of it so it doesn’t look matronly or cheap. The second rule is, you have to keep all the accessories really understated. The third rule, is replace the cheap plastic buttons 90% of the time. And the fourth rule is, test it out on a not-so critical day and see how people respond before bringing it into the full rotation.
I ordered also – for the buttons recommendation, what kind of buttons would you recommend? Thanks!
That vest is gorgeous. I have the same one in black and white and it’s the best. Mutters to self “I don’t need another, & don’t need another…”
I’d also say it depends on the occasion. Speaking at a conference, for instance, is different from a job interview, which is different from a normal day at the office. (For speaking at a conference, my badass female boss says they’ll always remember the smart woman in the red dress, and she’s right.)
Woops! That was meant as a reply to the thread about when to wear colored suits 🙂
Totally.
Thanks!!
