1) The Financial Diet has 27 enlightening thoughts on why you’re not building wealth (video). (The Muse)

2) I own these Franco Sarto Dipali ankle boots: 4/5 for quality, 4/5 for comfort. I’m very happy with them.

3) How to quit your job and travel the world. (In case, you’re having a “day” at work.) (Elle)

4) Banana Republic is having a 40%-off Friends and Family Sale (BRFAMILY). It’s a great time to pick up this Melton winter coat or this bold red sheath dress.  It’s also a great time to buy holiday gifts like these cashmere gloves.

5) Meme Wafare: How mass replication has poisoned the U.S. election. (The Guardian)

6) This Bobbi Brown eye palette is everything. The smoky neutrals are perfect for day-to-night looks.

7) The Tricky Etiquette of Co-Working Spaces. (The New York Times)

8) As always, ASOS has the best scarves.  This Jack Wills tartan and this herringbone/pastel scarf are so cool.

9) Ivanka Trump reportedly worried that association with Trump campaign has hurt her brand. (The Cut)

10) I’ve never considered buying a jumpsuit, but this Rebecca Taylor number me rethinking that position.  I really love the lace back.

  1. Dipali says:

My name is Dipali and now I have to have those ankle boots! Thanks for making my day 🙂

  2. Lauren says:

#9 may indeed be true. I have seen plenty of her shoes that I love, but I will not purchase anything branded Trump.

  3. Mary says:

Thanks for the Meme Wars article. Interesting and a little frightening. The inability and unwillingness to communicate in our country is troubling.

    • Shelley says:

I have a pair of her shoes that I bought before this whole thing started, and now I feel yucky when I wear them. But they were pricey and I do love them. But I won’t repurchase anything branded Trump again. If she hadn’t stood behind her father after all the dirty sexist and racist things he said I might have had a different position. And I’m Canadian- so I can just imagine how some Americans must feel.

Saw It On Social: The Battle of the Spendy Swimsuits

Sloane loves the pool. She jumps from the deck into the water with a crash, never considering her own safety, only to emerge on the surface, shouting “Again!” The pool is my daughter’s happy place. But no place where I need to wear a swimsuit in public is a happy one for me.

The Mondays: July 22, 2024

The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue […]
