Item of the Week: Burgundy Handbags

Once again, rich wine colors are hot for fall.  Shades of burgundy, plum, oxblood, and marsala are everywhere.  Pair the color with camel, charcoal, navy, and teal for the perfect autumnal accent.

When I spotted this wine-colored Michael Kors Geneva Satchel on Saturday, I had to have it.  I was also taken with the more relaxed Mercer Tote, but I’m a satchel girl at heart.  Both are a good medium size with ample storage space.  Michael Kors is also making a host of other bags in this color in case you prefer another shape.

For something under-$100, this Mossimo faux-leather satchel is my number one choice.  But I also like the cooler-than-weird shape of this Segolene En Cuir bag from Hautelook.  Need more options?  Check out the widget below.

I was at Target shopping for my niece’s birthday, not even planning to get anything for myself (famous last words), when I saw that Mossimo bag. I grabbed it off the mannequin and ran because it was the only one left on the store. I adore it and have gotten so many compliments on it. My best impulse buy in a long time!

  2. SSC says:

Very nice! How about a follow-up post on burgundy shoes? I’ve had a difficult time finding the right pair.

  3. NNK says:

Love the three posts in a day! Perfect mini breaks during work.

  4. Sandra says:

I have 2 burgundy bags already, a suede hobo that I got a screaming deal on at H&M and a Dooney domed satchel. Absolutely love this color!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
