State of the Blog: Burnt Out

Apr 12, 2016

Ladies,

I am thoroughly burned out.  Trying to finish law school in two years may have been the dumbest thing I’ve ever done, or the smartest.  With just one month left, I’m collapsing.

I need some sleep and a very big cocktail.

I’ll be back tomorrow.

xoxo, Belle

If you were further south I’d suggest some toes in the sand… Get rested, feel better, and we’ll see you soon!

  2. Kristen says:

Girl, listening to yourself and actually doing what needs to be done, was one of my hardest learned lessons this past year. Take all the time you need! #girlboss #burnout #selfcare #selflove

  3. Jennifer P says:

You can do it! 🙂 Enjoy your cocktail!

  4. Kate says:

Belle, having gone through law school in three years, I am amazed at all you do. The end is in sight. You can do it!

  5. Crystal says:

I can’t imagine completing law school in just two years, you crazy, successful woman! Congrats — you’re almost there.

  6. Jenn S. says:

Take some time for self-care – no one would begrudge you of that.

Less than a month, though! Hang in there.

  7. Annie says:

    You got this.

  8. Monica says:

Take care of yourself, and go get em!

  9. Jill says:

Take a whole week off! You deserve it! Your readers will be here when you return — we promise.

  10. Tazzy says:

Take a week off your fans will understand!!

  11. Nicole says:

We totally understand. You’re so close to the end! Taking some time for self care is necessary and well deserved, and it’s a good reminder to us all that we can’t take care of other things that are important to us without taking care of ourselves first. Enjoy that cocktail and that sleep, you’ve more than earned both. I second Jill’s comment; we’ll be here when you return, even if you give yourself more than a day off. Xoxo

  12. Em in Paris says:

Take good care of yourself Belle! You totally deserve your break.

We will miss you, but we’ll still be here when you’re back.

    XOXO

  13. Lynn says:

Take all the time you need! I do not know how you’ve kept everything going for all this time – you are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing it all with us. I agree with the above sentiments: we’ll be here when you get back. Just hold on a little bit longer – You’re almost there!

  14. Lauren says:

I agree with the above, you’re an inspiration and must be incredibly strong, mentally and emotionally, to get through law school in two years, run an incredible blog, and who knows what else! I hope you have a wonderful celebration planned at the end for yourself 🙂

  15. Liz says:

So proud of you! I am an Elementary school Principal and just love your blog! Take your time, rest, and congrats on finishing!

  16. AAR says:

Fellow 3L here, Belle. Good luck, and stay strong! We’re almost there–“there” being a lifetime of hard work 😉

  17. ag says:

The third year is a complete waste of time. Doing it in two years is best.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
