Re #7- The GPS is never right for the quickest way to my office from my house. It deliberately routes me to major highways instead of the small road that’s a direct cut past 3/4 of the traffic in town. the suggested route has twice the school zones, traffic lights and congestion from interstate exits. The GPS route takes 3 x what my route does.
I’m completely with you. The assumption that GPS’s know the most optimal route is flawed. Google, on the other hand, has become pretty great, especially with the Waze acquisition, but my regular GPS is terrible.
