1) What are the Iowa Caucuses, and how are they different from primaries? (Digg Explainer)

2) I am completely obsessed with this Halogen blanket scarf.  The black and tan is right up my alley, thought the pale blue is nice too.  They also have a similar oversized scarf in red for just $22.

3) Is telling people “don’t read the comments,” enabling abuse and harassment online? (Medium)

4) Have you checked out LOFT’s “work” section?  I love this flippy skirt.  This dotted blouse in black and white is chic.  And this side-shirred melange dress is comfortable and sleek.

5) The Normal Financial Habits That Are Actually Causing You to Lose Money. (Elite Daily)

6) Honest Company is launching a new natural beauty line.  Their Kissable Lip Crayon comes in a lovely selection of colors.  If you want to try their skincare products, they’re offering a free trial.

7) The 7 Ways Clutter is Ruining Your Life. (Fast Company)

8) Banana Republic is offering an extra 50% off sale.  This long Heritage chunky cardigan is a dream.  I love this vented pencil skirt.  And this hidden closure belt is perfect with dresses.

9) Polling shoes that millennials political views are contradictory and nonsensical. (The Atlantic)

10) Need commuting flats?  These Gentle Soles ballet flats in metallic or black are the ideal choice.  They are so, so comfortable.

11) Cooking for one?  These easy recipes make solo dinners a snap. (Pure Wow)

12) Black Halo makes some of my favorite work dresses.  I need this Marissa sheath, this Gretchen cowl neck, and this square-neck Kento dress.

13) A father took his teenaged daughter’s cell phone away, and then the cops came knocking. (The Washington Post)

I wonder if it’s really only Millenials who’s viewpoints are contradictory and nonsensical? Sometimes I wonder if the citizenship at large understand what a smaller government versus a larger government means? And when they want “their” programs funded and “other peoples” programs defunded, if they realize how self-serving and downright hypocritical they sound.

Maybe if politics could stop being about who we hate now, or the next big Fear, and more about addressing the real questions we need answered then maybe Millenials and everyone else could get some informed analysis about how we maintain a social safety net without killing the free market economy.

    • Belle says:

I think a lot of people’s views are contradictory. For example, people who hate the government who seem to accept every subsidy they offer.

  2. EHF says:

A word of warning about the Banana Republic Sloan vented pencil skirt: I purchased it in red and the the fit was so, so, SO off, as was the quality. I am 5’7″ and a pear shape (perfect for the skirt, right?) but found my normal skirt size was one/two sizes too large, and the skirt itself was incredibly long and more like a midi (it went from almost to my ribcage to mid-calf). Lastly, the quality was off–it’s unlined (and needs to be) and the exposed zipper gives it a cheap quality in person. I loved the idea, but not the execution.

  3. Cait says:

I loved the article about the contradictory nature of millennials’ political beliefs! I’m a millennial and if I’m being totally honest, this is probably fairly accurate for me too. However, I think that a lot of the contradictory statements are the result of millennials being opposed to “buying in” to any one particular set of beliefs. Millennials are less likely to create clean poll results because they’re less likely to put themselves in any one particular category. Thus because they don’t identify with a particular party, they don’t just give the answers that they know fit with that party’s beliefs. I’d like to think that this is results in an overall more well-informed electorate, but that’s probably wishful thinking on my part.

Nora Ephron was right: I feel bad about my neck. As I move through my forties, the creases have turned into chasms. The skin sags like a pair of sweatpants with aging elastic. It’s not great. But it’s just a natural part of getting older. Over the past year, it feels like I’ve tried every […]
