Morning Line: January 27

Jan 27, 2016

By mid-winter, I am so sick of wearing blazers.  I look in my closet each morning and think, “Yay, another workday, another blazer.”  When this happens, I grab my drape leather jacket and wear it with my sheath dresses.  It brings in a bit of rocker-chic without looking like I’m heading to a Sid Vicious concert.

I’m intrigued that you wear blazers in the winter, that sounds so much better than my giant sweaters and huge jackets. I struggle with wearing a blazer under a jacket, I think I look a little silly wearing two jackets, and the shoulders get a little tight in the outside jackets because of the blazer. It’s way too cold to wear a blazer alone though. Tips? How do you handle that in cold weather?

I have been drooling over that Vince Scuba in blush since it showed up last fall. I keep thinking it might go on sale and still be available in my size. The leather is so soft and buttery it could easily be a year round option for me.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
