1) Are job requirements based on physiological differences associate with gender constitutional?  A federal appeals court says, yes. (The Washington Post)

2) This $109 leather satchel from Nordstrom Rack is a good buy whether you buy it in rosso (red), cognac, or nero (deep navy).

3) Plan on switching jobs every three years for the rest of your life. (Fast Company)

4) ASOS has amazing work clothes.  This under-$100 Warehouse collarless blouse in mink is super-gorgeous.  I also love these $26 suede, 3″ pumps from New Look.  Lastly, this Jack Willis belted trench looks like a stellar mid-price trench.

5) A tutorial on face-cleansing, including dry/oil cleansing — because traditional cleansing and winter has left my skin a bit dry.  I love this Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Gel-to-Oil cleanser. (Wit & Whimsy)

6) These black pearl Melissa Joy Manning earrings are unique and chic with an inverse hoop style.  For something under-$100, these black pearl studs from Perlaviva are a good option.

7) Should we allow people who quit their jobs to collect unemployment?  (Democracy Journal)

8) I am absolutely smitten with these Halogen Ava flats.  The black and snakeskin combo both caught my eye in the store.

9) If you feel insulted by your raise, should you tell your boss? One woman did. (Ask a Manager)

10) Looking for chic bookends? These Big Horn Sheep ones from Target have a cool look to them.  These Heritage arrow bookends are cute, and I like these ceramic owls.

11) 31 Crazy Wardrobe Restrictions Flight Attendants Have to Follow. (Cosmopolitan)

12) Off 5th has great deals.  I love this black and white Reiss blouse from Lafayette148.  This DvF Zoe dress also hits it out of the park.

Interesting about the every 3 years thing (No. 3). I’m coming up on 11 years at the same company, working for the same boss, but I’ve gotten many promotions and changed roles and continue to grow…in place.

Due to my age to relative work history I’m thinking I should update my resume to reflect each different stepping stone and what I did in that time frame rather than just the one 11 year job with my most up to date title.

Some companies are also good about horizontal job changes, if you wanted to do other things in the same company. I don’t think you should have to leave a place you love just to satisfy the “new normal” for some people.

I have been a flight attendant going on 9 years. Almost all of these are true and make excellent standards as crazy as they may seem.

About face cleansing (#5): Belle, have you found that products like the Bliss Gel-to-Oil cleanser (or basically anything with the word “oil” in the ingredients) makes your skin more prone to breakouts? Like you, I have combination skin, so I’ve usually avoided anything containing oils.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
