7 Stylish Tops for the Office, All Under-$75

Jan 13, 2016

I am in desperate need of some new work blouses.  My favorites are showing their age, and I can’t find new ones I like to replace them. I thought maybe some of you ladies might be in the same boat.  Here are some of the best ones I’ve found.

Have you looked at MM Lafleur recently? I am a huge fan of the Deneuve top, which I bought this past fall. At first wear, this became my all-time favorite blouse – it’s beautifully constructed, the fabric drapes nicely, and it has a conservative fit. (I know it’s a bit pricey, but in this case, I think it was well worth its $145 price tag.)

  2. Ellen says:

Heads up, that TopShop shirt is horribly fitting. Tight arms, baggy chest – easy return.

  3. Rachel says:

I’ve been loving Banana Republic Factory blouses lately. In the past few months, I’ve picked up 3-4 nice blouses and shirts that are great for work, but aren’t just boring button downs. They have an online store, but, if there’s a brick and mortar location near you, I’ve gotten even better deals in store.

  4. Anna says:

Love the AT top. I like the idea of a peplum top but so many are sleeveless and I can’t figure out what to wear over them.

  5. Lindsey says:

Everlane silk has worn well for me.

  6. Monica says:

Me too. A lot of my natural fiber tops from several years ago have begun showing wear or up and sprouted holes (I love linen, but darn it.) I don’t know if it’s the current trends for either boxy and short or SUPER long but it has been tough to find replacements.

I just took some shirts I hadn’t been getting much wear out of due to fit issues to a new tailor last week, so I’m hoping I can bring in some of my “i like but I don’t love” tops and turn them into my new staples.

  7. Melodie says:

I usually try to spend $10-$20 on a work blouse. These prices are way out of range of what I want to pay.

  8. Jo says:

Rebecca Taylor has some lovely blouses. I have been finding them on sale at the Rack and other places.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
