State of the Blog: So, About My Previous Optimism…

Dec 10, 2015

Snip20151210_2

Thursday, when you admit that you grossly underestimated the amount of time this paper on Nazi-looted art and the ‘discovery rule’ was going to take you to write.  Probably because you never imagined it would take 20 pages and 43 different case citations.

I thought I could manage posts every day this week.  But there are only 10 hours left until this paper is due, and blogging about shoes and makeup seems less important by comparison.  Only because it seems a shame to drop out of law school after suffering through five-of-six semesters.

Thankfully, this is the last semester when I’ll have final papers and exams.  So this will likely be the last time you see a law school generated mea culpa until the bar exam.

Only 13 days until I can go home for Christmas, read books for pleasure, play in the snow with Avery (I’ll get a video, I promise), and not have to crack a Bluebook until mid-January.  Back tomorrow with a holiday gift guide for cooks and foodies and the Workday Reading.  Provided, of course, I don’t drop dead due to sleep deprivation or caffeine consumption.

xoxo, Belle

Belle, keeping up this blog during law school is SO impressive! It’s such an inspiration how you’re able to do it all, and it’s inspiring that you are self-aware enough to prioritize and admit when some things have to take a backseat for a day or two. Congratulations on being so close to finishing law school, and congratulations on continuing to balance work, a blog, and your education in such a classy way! Good luck on your exams and papers and enjoy a well-deserved break afterwards.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
