I love my olive utility jacket. I wear it with jeans, over sweater dresses, and over my yoga clothes. If you want to go fancy, this Burberry jacket is to die for. For something more affordable, I also like this Press two-pocket jacket. Olive not your thing? Try this super chic navy option.
If you want to wear it over thick sweaters, a utility vest might be more your speed. This Nurture jacket is great. But I really love this grey option from Forever21.
Plus-size? This City Chic jacket is nice. Petite? I like this BR option. Tall? Give this River Island vest a look.
I’ve been looking for a good utility jacket for months and finally ordered this Tommy Hilfiger one from Amazon and it is perfect– way better than it looks in the pictures! I wanted a jacket that was lined (the Modcloth one isn’t) but not too bulky.
I know I sound like a commercial, but this is honestly just the end result of a VERY long search and I wanted to share!

How is the length on that one? I want something that goes maybe mid-thigh, but I can never tell from the photo on a model how it’ll look on me. I’m 5’6″
Anna,
I’m also 5’6″ and this one is about mid-thigh on me. It’s longer than where my peacoat hits (just below the waistband of my jeans) and shorter than where my winter parka falls (almost to my knees).
Awesome!
If you’re looking for a more versatile and/or waterproof version, I bought a 3-in-1 from Timberland (has removable fleece jacket inside) that I love. Well worth the price. https://www.timberland.com/shop/womens-clothing/womens-mount-cabot-3-in-1-waterproof-coat-5737j768
I have this one from H&M and I love it. I wear it all the time!
